Mrs. Penrod to you!

I was married just a month and a half ago. You can see some of the images of our wedding. Enjoy. We had the time of our lives. The honey moon was perfect too. We got to go on a bike ride and send little baby sea turtles to the sea!!!
We have been trying to get settled but it is hard because we are busy. We started to build Theo (my pet tortoise) a vivarium (a reptile home). It is really nice 4.5’ x 2’. There will be plants, a water fall with pond, a cave, and multiple levels to reach. It will be awesome. It is hard to build because it has got cold and snowy outside.
Last night we started building our snow ramp. It is Perfect. We have a big granite outcropping to get some speed. I jumped a little. It was fun. I will be putting up pix and a video later. Well, I am off to play a game.

OH yeah, By the way...

Curtis and I found a place to live. It is awesome. PERFECT. I never thought life could be so great, so amazing, so wonderful. I have been waiting for life to happen. And now I have arrived. I live and work in Vail, Colorado. I do mountain bike races (well I wrecked my last one). And I can’t think of anything I could want more. I am truly happy.

I move in September 8th, 2007. Curtis will move in after the wedding. OH YEAH… I didn’t say I was going to get MARRIED. I will soon be Breanne Michelle Penrod. That sounds weird. Next week I will be 25 years old. That means I have had my name for 25 years. NOW it will change. I thought about not changing it or maybe doing the hyphen thing. But that just sux. I mean what kid wants a complex about there last name and then dose a daughter have a trip hyphened name when they get married or then who would marry into a hyphened name NO one. No I am changing my name (I already ask Curtis if he wanted to take my name… That didn’t go over well). HAHA.

So my name change happens on October 13th, 2007!!! Very soon… I am ready. Let’s go!

life is perfect!

I have entered the IPOD world. I have been very interested in the IPOD advertising effort. I put a lot of stock in advertising and image. I think it is important to understand a companies passion for what they are selling or their effort to try and get my attention. And when a company puts a lot of thought into it it is effortless to accept. That is what I like. I don’t want to do the work to find out if I think the product is worth my while. Now that doesn’t mean I can afford it. So I have been waiting until the right time to get an IPOD (and maybe if they came out with wireless setup).

My perfect boyfriend got me the RED Nano for graduation (oh and I will have pictures of Graduation soon). He got me one of those arm bands too (love it), so I can work out with music. I have always wanted a small convenient soundtrack to my work out. YAY!

Speaking of working out today I found out I lost 12 lbs in the last few months. I am very happy (thanks to stress and slimfast). I went to show my mom how the equipment at the gym worked this morning. We are going to try to get in shape to feel better and more healthy. Very excited. I pretty much am the happiest Girl in the world. I could not ask for a better life. NOW that I have graduated there is nothing looming over my head (except for my loans, but I am thankful I was able to have them really). I mean I am loving my job, my location, my wonderful boyfriend (who treats me like the queen of the world), and everything in my life. Everything in my life so far has been just waiting for something to happen: getting out of high school, starting college, getting each project done, starting internships, waiting to move to the next place, back to school, and waiting to graduate. NOW, it is perfect! All that work and stress for reaching my goals. I still have goals and things that I am looking forward to, but it is such a relief to know that I can develop as an architect in one place for more than a 3 to 6 month stretch at a time. I thank God everyday for how blessed my life is and is becoming!

Snow in May…

Yesterday, I woke up and it was snowing. It snowed a good amount above 10,000 ft. As I was driving over the pass it was interesting to see the line at which the snow became rain. I never really have seen it so defined. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

So I started my job a week ago. It is everything I hoped it would be. Yesterday, I went out with the girls at Curtis’ work. They invited me to girls night out. We went to a restaurant called Kelly Liken. It was half off because of the off-season. It was amazing. You can only dream of being that good of a cook. YUM>>>> so I could not bring myself to just eat anything after an amazing meal like that. Today I went down to the store and bought a bunch of cheeses and fruit as well as lunch items. That were good too. I am loving it. Thank you God for the mountain country.

Where dose all the motivation go…

I can’t focus… Focusing on something is not something I am good at anyway. I am a little scattered sometimes and I don’t really get focused unless I have to. I am currently truly unable to focus. I have tried. I have made lists and goals for each day, BUT NOTHING. I do not follow the list and goals I fail in keeping my mind on topic. I am only going to graduate by the grace of God.

Graduation to JOB

You don’t even know how blessed my life is… God has been looking out for me every step up of the way. I received a call yesterday from my number one choice of Firms. They called to offer me a job. I am so excited this firm is ideal for me. It is Morter Architects. They are in Vail, Co where I will be soon after I graduate in May. So there you go. I am an Intern Architect.

52 days

My boyfriend is the best thing in the whole world. Yesterday I had a second interview with Morter Architects in Vail. So I went to see Curtis for his lunch. We decided we were going to go ice skating that night so I stayed in Eagle-Vail until he was off work. I was starting to feel really sick. After work Curtis made me dinner and I didn’t feel up to skating, so we watched a bunch of shows (the office).

I rapidly felt worse and worse, and it was getting late. I didn’t feel like I could drive over the pass to my parents. I felt so bad. SO my perfect boyfriend drove me all the way to my parents and then drove back (that is 40 minutes both ways). I am so thankful too. I am still feeling WAY under the weather.

Before this week I have been non stop with school. Studio mid-critique was last Wednesday. I pretty much didn’t sleep or think before that trying to get my project done. I had a pretty successful crit, so that is a burden off my shoulders. Now there is only 52 day until I graduate. I cannot wait.

The beginning of this semester we went to Texas for a studio fieldtrip. We went to the Nasher, Kimble, The Modern, and Marfa.
